Drake is shooting a music video for his new hit “In My Feelings” amidst the viral keke dance.
Since releasing his new album Scorpion last month, Drake has been dominating the music scene. One of the singles on the project, “In My Feelings,” has since sparked a viral dance move to some of the lyrics. With the viral response to the single, it only makes sense that Drake and his team shoot a visual to help make it into a summer anthem. Yesterday, Spotify’s Carl Chery posted a video on social media of Karena Evans shooting a video in New Orleans.
Evans has been Drake’s go-to director and she is responsible for the hugely successful “Nice For What,” “God’s Plan,” and “I’m Upset” videos. It seems the crew was in New Orleans over the weekend shooting the video. The Toronto rapper sampled Lil Wayne and Magnolia Shot on the single “In My Feelings.” Both Weezy and Short are New Orleans natives so it’s not surprising.
The “In My Feelings” dance challenge has taken over social media which provides even more marketing for the already hugely popular. “Kiki, do you love me? Are you riding? / Say you’ll never ever leave from beside me / ‘Cause I want ya, and I need ya / And I’m down for you always,” Drizzy sings.
Drake performed at Sunday’s Wireless Festival in London while Evans was shooting the video. In the clip below, you can hear “In My Feelings” playing in the background. The song debut at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week. Seven of the songs on the album debut in the top ten of the chart this week with “Nice For What” returning to the No. 1 spot.
Drake is also now the first artist to release an album that gets 1 billion streams in one week. Scorpion clocks 1 billion streams in the first week of release and is on track to sell over 700,000 album equivalent units in the United States in the first week.
