Drake Drops “God’s Plan” Video Gave Away $1 Million

Drake drops the highly anticipated visuals for “God’s Plan.”

The Toronto rapper went on a charitable run in Miami last week when he touched down in the city with his crew to shoot the video for the Scary Hours single. He gave away $1 million which is much higher than we previously reported. We do know that he donated $50,000 to the Lotus House Women’s Shelter, a $20,000 check to the City of Miami Fire Department, a $50,000 scholarship to the University of Miami, a sprinter van to the Overtown Youth Center, treating three women to a shopping spree at Saks Fifth Avenue where he had the company of Pittsburgh Steelers star Antonio Brown.

Those were just a few good deeds that Drake did during his time in Miami. In the opening credit of the video, they revealed that the total budget to shoot the video was $996,631.90, just under a million dollars. “We gave it all away,” the disclaimer reads. “Don’t tell the label.”

Drake’s mother, Sandy Graham, appeared in the video towards the end in a quick cameo. “You gotta make sure you take care of your mom too, no matter what you do,” he told a young fan. “That’s all we got, trust me. That’s my world too.”

“God’s Plan” is currently at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and will likely be at the top of the chart for the long haul. Since dropping the single last month, Drake has shattered all types of records including the Apple Music and Spotify single day streaming record. We will be watching closely to see if the video will break any records, but so far the views are going up pretty fast.

There are some talks that Drake will be shooting a video for “Diplomatic Immunity” the second single off the Scary Hours EP. Watch the video below.
