Kanye West was born in Atlanta on June 8, 1977. Kanye, also known as Yeezy, famously left college to pursue a musical career. He started out as a producer, producing tracks for Jay Z while while also working on his own mixtape. His debut album The College Dropout was released in 2002 and has since became a classic, selling 2.6 million copies and won a Grammy for Best Rap Album.
