Vybz Kartel is cooking with DJ Khaled in Miami amid the We The Best Music Group producer’s drama with Drake.
The dancehall legend is currently in the US after getting his visa reinstated six months after his release from prison. Vybz Kartel was released from prison in July last year, and by February this year, he was back on US soil for the first time in twenty years. Not only did he attend the Grammy Awards for the first time in his career, but Kartel also hit the studio in Los Angeles with his longtime friend Busta Rhymes.
Vybz Kartel has since returned to Miami with his fiancee and members of his team, including Skatta Burrell and Linton ‘TJ’ White of TJ Records. The dancehall legend shared a few photos of himself in the studio with DJ Khaled, who is currently working on his new album, Aalam of God. The project is expected out sometime this year but has yet to receive an official release date.

While DJ Khaled hit the studio with Vybz Kartel, his drama with Drake casts a shadow over the album’s rollout. The producer recently announced that the Canadian rapper would be on the album, a post that Drizzy openly scoffed at.
“FYI… DRAKE’S BACK TO WORK… SO AM I! THIS THE ONE WITH [2] DRAKES,” Khaled wrote. “NEW ALBUM 2025 AALAM OF GOD!”

Drake quickly responded in the comments, writing, “Must be Drake Bell,” signaling that he did not contribute any songs to the project. The Toronto rapper’s comment stirred a lot of chatters in the hip-hop community, with some fans trolling DJ Khaled over the fiasco. Drake, who is currently touring in Australia, appears to be not in the mood to collaborate with anyone right now following his bruising beef with Kendrick Lamar, who himself is riding a high right now off his Super Bowl Halftime Show performance.
Drizzy’s comment is particularly surprising given that he is one of Khaled’s frequent collaborators. DJ Khaled has since deleted the post and has turned his attention to working with Vybz Kartel.
