Vybz Kartel makes it official with a diamond engagement ring for his fiancee Sidem Ozturk.
The dancehall legend shared a clip on Instagram on Tuesday (November 5) for his three million followers to see. The one-minute clip shows Vybz Kartel standing outside a hotel room before popping out the sparkling diamond engagement ring he bought for his soon-to-be wife. He then goes inside to surprise Ozturk, who was waiting patiently.
Urban Islandz was the first report in 2022 that Vybz Kartel and Sidem Ozturk were engaged. The “Fever” deejay says he couldn’t wait until he is released from prison to ask Ozturk to be his “wife for life.”
“It’s Official #1Wife,” Kartel wrote while his song “Interracial” plays in the background. “Proposed in Prison, Proposed in #RealLife. You were there when I needed you most and I’ll never leave you baby. I cherish all the times you came to visit me and told me that it’s going to be ok. I cherish all the times we spoke on the phone and in real life in the box. We laughed together we cried together and now we celebrate together!”
Kartel calls Sidem his best friend and his support system, especially during his fight for freedom. He wrote, “You’re my best friend and my companion and I pray to God we stay together for as long as I Live. I Love you baby.” Vybz Kartel turned off the comments on the post as he and Sidem have been dealing with online trolls regarding their relationship.

In the meantime, Vybz Kartel is getting ready for his Freedom St concert, his first live performance since his release from prison on July 31st. The show is set for New Year’s Eve at the National Stadium in Kingston. The former Portmore Empire head announced that there would be some guest appearances from members of his former camp and some collaborators like Spice, Popcaan, Tommy Lee Sparta, and more.
Vybz Kartel has not yet announced a wedding date for when he will tie the knot with Ozturk.
