Cardi B announced yesterday that the first single off her upcoming sophomore album is due on Thursday of this week, but by Tuesday the song “Money” was out on all streaming platforms. Sources say that she just couldn’t contain her excitement about the new single so she asked her team to release it ahead of schedule. “I was born to flex, diamonds on my neck / I like boardin’ jets / I like morning sex / But nothin’ in this world that I like more than checks,” she raps.
Bardi links up with her producer J. White, who produced her mega-hit single “Bodak Yellow” which is now certified 6X platinum. “Money” is Cardi B’s first single since dropping her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, earlier this year. The track is also in reminisced of her mixtape days.
The Bronx rapper also addresses her critics who say she went pop and flaunts her wealth in the process. “Cardi at the tip-top, b*tch / Kiss the ring and kick rocks, sis,” she raps.
