Vybz Kartel and his Freedom Street concert production team launched a Black Friday special on tickets.

The dancehall legend had indicated that his team would run a deal for the popular American shopping weekend, which started on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving Day. The catch is not all tickets are on sale, and fans have until midnight on December 1st to grab tickets on the deal.

The Freedom Street concert tickets on sale are only for the Gaza Nation Bleachers, but Gaza fans can snatch them up for 50% off at US$75, which is approximately J$12,000. “These specially discounted tickets are for the financially challenged Jamaican fans, and this initiative is supported directly by Vybz Kartel himself,” the production said.

There were rumors that the concert tickets were not selling as fast as promoter Joe Bogdanovich would’ve hoped. But the Downsound Entertainment principal dismissed those rumors, assuring fans that the tickets were going fast.

The Bleachers tickets were not the cheapest for the New Year’s Eve event, but the Tier 1 tickets, priced at US$125, sold out shortly after tickets went on sale over the summer. Vybz Kartel and his lineup of artists have been busy rehearsing for the event. The show could be the biggest concert in Jamaica’s history.

Artists on the lineup include several former Vybz Kartel’s Portmore Empire members, including Popcaan, Tommy Lee Sparta, Sheba, Lisa Hyper, and Shawn Storm. Skillibeng and Chronic Law are also on the lineup.

Freedom Street is Vybz Kartel’s first live performance since his release from prison on July 31st. The show will also be his first in almost a decade and a half. The dancehall legend spent nearly thirteen years behind bars. Kartel also has a massive performance at the One Caribbean Music Festival in Trinidad and Tobago set for February 28, 2025, on Carnival Friday. However, that show has sparked controversy among soca lovers in the Twin Island Republic.
