Diddy’s attorneys are pushing for the billionaire to get bail while accusing prosecutors of altering video evidence.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is now on his fourth attempt at securing bond, and a judge is expected to rule on his motion for bail on Monday. His latest bail hearing gets underway in a Manhattan federal court on Friday (November 22) and will continue on Monday, November 25. The Bad Boy Records mogul received support from his family, including his children, who showed up to court.

According to TMZ, Diddy’s attorneys proposed a whopping $50 million security package in exchange for his bond. The rapper’s Miami Beach mansion was put up as collateral. His lawyers are requesting that he be placed on house arrest with around-the-clock security. He would also adhere to a strict policy of no contact with any alleged victims or witnesses in the federal case.
The presiding judge told Diddy’s attorneys that his Miami Beach home would not be suitable for home confinement because it is right next to the ocean and has a dock, regardless of whether there is a boat parked there. Other living options are being explored, including a resident that the rapper has in New York City.
In the meantime, Diddy’s attorneys are accusing the prosecution of showing the judge an edited version of the infamous Cassie beating video. The clip made its way into the public space earlier this year when CNN released it, causing Combs to be condemned by fans and some members of the celebrity world. In new documents filed ahead of the judge’s decision on his bail, Diddy’s attorneys are now saying prosecutors edited the video to make him look more dangerous. Lawyers are saying that prosecutors are in possession of the complete video but edited the order of events that the hotel surveillance cameras captured.

Diddy’s attorneys are saying the video shows a “domestic dispute in which he ran down the hall of the hotel to recover his clothes and cellphone,” and not a “freak-off.” Diddy also denied that he threw a vase at Cassie and did not drag her down the hallway, as some media outlets reported. He says he had only thrown the content of the vase at her in the incident.
The bottom line is Diddy is saying that prosecutors are trying to paint a picture of him being a dangerous individual to society so that the judge will deny him bail. The judge will likely rule on his latest bail attempt at Monday’s hearing.
Combs is facing charges of sex trafficking, kidnapping, and racketeering and is set to go on trial in May 2025.
