Alkaline drops his new song “Accomplishment” which is seemingly a response to Vybz Kartel’s recent comment.
After debuting his new music video “Blanco,” Alkaline returns with a new song as he continues to deliver a consistent supply of new content for his Vendetta fans. This year has been very active for the deejay with several new songs. “Accomplishment” is only the latest in a series of tracks released under the labels SartOut Records and Autobamb Records.
“Nuh bagga excitement/ Mek e thing florish/ Fi every advance doubters fi get punish/ Gimme self homage,” Alka deejays.
Some dancehall fans are suggesting that line is a direct response to Vybz Kartel’s recent interview on ER where he spoke about having no bad blood with Alkaline. The Worl’Boss also took a slight jab at the Vendetta deejay for not giving homage to those who came before him.
“Not his career, every career, the same way how I’m not afraid to say, Buju Banton a mi biggest inspiration, Ninja Man,” the Gaza boss said. In the same interview, he called Alkaline, “a good water that’s it.”
Alkaline is notorious in dancehall for not paying homage to other artists, something he has come under criticism for. Despite his critics, the 30-year-old deejay doubles down on his stance only giving himself homage for his accomplishments in music.
“Yeh we glad seh we can dweet like this/ Influence inna di world gigantic/ Nah no fear not even the slightest/ Nah move frantic,” he deejays.
In the meantime, Vybz Kartel is busy rehearsing for his upcoming concert, Freedom Street. The show marks his first live performance since being released from prison on July 31, 2024. Some big names like Skillibeng, Spice, Popcaan, and Tommy Lee Sparta, are expected to take the stage at the National Stadium in Kingston on December 31st.
