50 Cent says his relationship with Starz has ended, and Diddy might’ve had something to do with it.

The G-Unit rapper and the TV Network have had a rocky relationship over the years despite a successful business relationship that spawned several hit TV series. 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, made his entrance into TV production over a decade and one of his early shows, Power, on Starz, is still one of his most successful ventures to date.

In case you doubt the success of the series, it spawned three spinoff shows that also became television blockbusters. Naturally, it’s sad to see 50 Cent and Starz now going their separate ways after giving him the Power franchise, but perhaps Fif might have good reasons to end his business relationship with the network. The rap mogul has, in the past, complained about the deal he had with the network and has bashed the hierarchy on several occasions.

In a new interview with Hot97, 50 Cent shared that STARZ CEO Jeffrey Hirsch’s alleged connection to embattled rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was the final straw for him. According to Fif, Diddy views him as a “worker bee,” and the Starz CEO tried to get on the network to do an interview series similar to what Fat Joe is doing.

“And they [STARZ] even struggled in other areas — they was trying to create another version of what’s going on there by Joe [Fat Joe] show,” the G-Unit chief said. “I would’ve did that too in a different way because it’s obviously growing. Right. But that was a Puffy production.”

“He helped with the Revolt deal. He put the Revolt deal together for Puff,” Fifty continues while adding that he is not at all threatened by the network’s head. “Now the guy’s the CEO and you think you over me? No, they’re not over me. I don’t give a f— what your job title is.”

50 Cent also posted a screenshot of a 2022 Deadline article about Fat Joe and Diddy’s rumored interview show for Starz. The show reportedly had the backing of LeBron James’ production studio, SpringHill. Fif criticized the network for allegedly not axing the show despite the allegations and federal charges against Diddy.

“This is a sh*t head move for Starz,” 50 Cent wrote in the since-deleted post. “I have no idea why they wouldn’t clean this up but I’m not selling any new series to this network.”

Diddy is awaiting trial on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. His trial date is set for May 2025.
