Tekashi 6ix9ine was taken into federal custody and is being housed at the same prison as Diddy.

The rainbow-haired rapper was picked up by federal agents on Tuesday, October 29, and could be facing prison time for violating the terms of his release. You can recall that Tekashi 6ix9ine took a plea deal in 2019 following an indictment with fellow gang members on charges of racketeering, narcotics trafficking, and firearm offenses.

Not only did he plead guilty to the charges, but he also cooperated with the feds and snitched on his fellow gang members, including his former manager, Kifano “Shotti” Jordan, who is currently serving a 15-year prison term. 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was initially facing 47 years in prison for his involvement with the gang but ended up being released on 5 years of probation following the conclusion of the trial. He was branded a snitch in the process, a title he happily embraced for his freedom.

6ix9ine was required to regularly check in with his probation officer and was not allowed to take drugs. The rapper’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, spoke to TMZ, shedding more light on his recent arrest, saying that his client was notified two weeks before his arrest about the violation of the terms of his probation. Lazzaro told the outlet that the rapper voluntarily surrendered to US Marshals after a New York judge ordered his arrest after showing up to court an hour late for his hearing.

The attorney also revealed that Tekashi 6ix9ine tested positive for meth, which he believed could be a false positive because the rapper is taking Adderall. He also failed to show up for another random drug test on a separate occasion, which is another violation and also performed in Las Vegas without permission from his probation officer.

Things don’t look too good for 6ix9ine, who could serve time behind bars for the violation. Interestingly, he could be running into Diddy while incarcerated since the Bad Boy Records mogul is being housed at the same prison, the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The facility is famous for housing celebrities and other high-profile inmates due to its security.

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s next court hearing is set for November 12, which means he will remain incarcerated at least for another two weeks. In the meantime, Diddy is being held without bond as he awaits his trial date in May 2025.
