Cardi B and Vybz Kartel are ready to drop a collab and Rvssian could be already cooking it up.

The Bronx rapper and the Portmore deejay have both expressed their desires to collaborate with each other recently and the drums are getting even louder. A number of artists are lining up to collaborate with Vybz Kartel following his release from prison after 13 years in the slammer. It appears Cardi B might be one of the first big-name artists to get in the booth with the dancehall legend.

While on Instagram Live this week, Cardi told her fans that she wants Rvssian to produce her collaboration with Kartel after learning that the Gaza boss is interested in working with her. “Rvssian, I heard Vybz Kartel want to do a song with me,” she said. “You need to cook up the best motherf—ing song for us. You need to cook it up.” Rvssian, who was on the Live, commented, “I got uuuuu.”

Cardi B and Rvssian have been friends for years and have even worked together on French Montana’s single “Writing On The Wall,” which has been certified Gold in Latin America. The Jamaican producer and Vybz Kartel have been friends for over a decade and often credits the dancehall legend for being instrumental in his early career.

In a previous Livestream, the “Money” rapper shared that she was ready to record the perfect song with Kartel. “I want to make the most perfect, beautiful, amazing song with Vybz Kartel,” she said. “He’s really my favorite artist, like he’s literally my number one artist. My favorite artist in the whole wide world.”

Cardi B is a huge fan of dancehall music although she hasn’t had plenty of experience recording music in the genre. In 2017, she worked with Konshens and HoodCelebrityy on the track “Back It Up” which made it onto her Gangsta B–ch Music, Vol. 2, mixtape. Back then she shared that she enjoyed recording that song and was a huge fan of Konshens music.

Following his release from prison over the summer, Cardi B defended Vybz Kartel from online trolls who commented on his physical appearance. Kartel’s struggles with Graves’ disease left him with severe swelling in his face and neck. “I do not play about f—ing Vybz Kartel,” she said. “When I see y’all f—ing Americans… No offense, no offense. I mean, I’m American, but when I see y’all talking about f—ing Vybz Kartel, I be getting upset ’cause, like, not too much. Not too f—ing much. Mind your f—ing business. I do not play about f—ing Vybz Kartel, bi–h. At all. At all. I do not, I do not, I do not.”
