New details about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ allegedly blowing up Kid Cudi’s car have emerged with documents showing that the L.A. Fire Department has records confirming it.
Details of the alleged incident first surfaced last year in Cassie’s bombshell lawsuit against Diddy. In her suit, Cassie, whose real name is Cassandra Ventura, details countless disturbing allegations against the Bad Boy Records founder including that he had raped and abused her physically and mentally over the many years there were together. She also claimed that he forced her into numerous sexual acts with other people.
A bombshell video was leaked in May this year showing Diddy brutally attacking Cassie at a hotel as she tried to escape his grips. The rapper threw her to the ground and stomped her with his feet. He later apologizes for the incident and says he has been getting help to deal with his problems and has been trying to turn a new leaf.
During a tumultuous period of her relationship with Diddy in 2012, Cassie briefly dated rapper Kid Cudi, a move that she said infuriated the rap mogul. She said in her lawsuit that Combs then made a threat to blow up Kid Cudi’s car as a way to send a message to him. Cudi’s car later mysteriously exploded in his driveway at his Los Angeles home around the time of the alleged threat, her lawsuit explains. A spokesperson for the rapper also confirmed the claim, saying, “This is all true.”
Newly unearthed documents by Rolling Stone revealed that Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, was the victim of an arson incident in which his Porsche caught fire while parked in his driveway by an “incendiary device.” The incident occurred on January 9, 2012. The document showed that the rapper was the owner of the luxury car that was set ablaze and was the resident occupying the property where the alleged incident went down. The Los Angeles City Fire Department listed the cause of the fire as “intentional.” The fire, which resulted in a $10,000 damage to the vehicle, was reported at 10:52 am and no one was arrested nor a suspect named.
Federal prosecutors mentioned the arson incident last month in court as they argued against granting Sean Combs bail. The judge later denied the rap mogul bond despite his attorney proposing a $50 million package which includes one of his mansions. Prosecutors detailed how the fire was started, telling the court that Diddy’s co-conspirators sliced open the Porsche’s convertible top and dropped “a Molotov cocktail inside.” Rolling Stone reported that prosecutors say they have multiple witnesses who would testify that Diddy bragged “about his role in destroying Individual-1’s car.”
Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo said in a statement that the rapper/entrepreneur was not involved in the alleged incident.
In the meantime, Combs’ attorney says he is “eager” to tell his story on the witness stand during trial. He is currently facing decades in prison if convicted on charges of sex trafficking, kidnapping, and racketeering. He is being held without bond at a detention center in Brooklyn.
