Nicki Minaj’s tour is being rocked by canceled shows, and now fake news and scam are making its way into her camp.
On Friday, new reporting surfaced online claiming that Nicki Minaj was forced to cancel a show in Bangkok set for April 4th due to unknown “complications.” A rep for the Trinidadian rapper has confirmed with Urban Islandz that the rumored canceled show is a total scam and her team will be putting out a warning for unsuspecting fans.
“Total fake news there is and never was any show planned for that city, and we will be looking at all legal options to deal with this,” her rep said. “We will be warning fans to be on the lookout for these scam promoters they do it all the time, and artists get blamed for it.”
Nicki Minaj is currently touring in Europe for her “The Nicki WRLD Tour” with Juice WRLD. So far she has been rocked with three cancellations due to technical problems and weather. Those tour dates have been moved to a later date. The bottom line, Nicki is not booked for a show in Bangkok.
After wrapping up the European leg of her tour, Nicki Minaj will then kick off her North American tour this summer. You can recall that tour was canceled last year because she didn’t have enough time to rehearse and prepare for the trek. That tour also featured Future as a headlining act, but it’s unclear if he will be back as a headliner.
Last week, Nicki Minaj addressed her critics about her canceled shows in Dublin and Bordeaux. “Why would an artist cancel a show & lose money?” she wrote on Twitter. “What for? When they’re already in the building, dressed, etc. The artist is just as mad as the fans when a show can’t go on. I love seeing my fans. Nothing can stop me. B4 the show, juice WRLD & I are just as excited as u guys are.
