Tekashi69 has been moved to a new prison amidst reports that rival gang members attacked him.
Tekashi 6ix9ine was transferred to another detention center late Wednesday night just moments after Urban Islandz reported that he got jumped at the Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he was being housed in the general population. TMZ reported that the “FEFE” rapper was moved to a new facility notorious for holding inmates who cut deals with prosecutors. This doesn’t mean that 69 is cooperating with the feds, but given that he is facing life in prison there is no telling.
Tekashi 6ix9ine’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, told TMZ that he was transferred for security reasons. He didn’t give any further details nor answered questions about whether or not he cut a deal.
6ix9ine is facing some serious federal crimes including gun, drugs, and racketeering. The rainbow-hair is facing a minimum sentence of 25 years and could get life if he is convicted. Additionally, his life is in danger after he fired most of his management team which includes his former manager Kifano Jordan, aka Shottie. Both the “Kooda” rapper and his ex-manager were indicted on six federal charges including discharging a firearm while committing a crime.
As to the real reason why Tekashi69 was moved from the MDC prison, rumors are claiming that he was getting threats from members of the bloods and crips gang. At the new facility, he specifically asked to be placed away from members of both gangs.
While he awaits bail, 69 is getting support from some of his peers in hip-hop including Nicki Minaj who he is friends with. Over the past year, he has also created a lot of enemies in hip-hop, so there are a lot of rappers who are rooting for his demise right now. His bail hearing is set for next week Monday.
