Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan is mourning the death of dancehall/afrobeat star Ebony Reigns.
Reigns died in a deadly car crash on Thursday which also claimed the lives of two of her friends. She is one of Ghana’s youngest and brightest stars since rising to fame in 2015 with a couple of hits. Asamoah Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah, who plays football for Ghana’s national team, paid homage to the 20-year-old musician on social media after learning of her death.
She was on her way to Accra from a trip to Sunyani when the car she was traveling in collided head-on with a bus traveling in the opposite direction. All three passengers in the car died at the Bechem Government Hospital. The driver of the bus survives and is getting treatment.
“Rest in peace Ebony Reigns,” Gyna wrote while Kwadwo Asamoah added, “You will be remembered forever for the amazing qualities you embodied. Your death has left me in shock. We never met but I loved your music. R.I.P Ebony.”

The mangled Jeep, songstress Ebony and at least two others, died in at Mankraso on the Sunyani-Kumasi road, as well as the bus they crashed into.
This loss, like any other death of a young one, is extremely sad. #EbonyReigns
