The “Bodak Yellow” rapper posted a video on Instagram at midnight on Tuesday night to mark the beginning of her birthday celebration. The one-minute clip shows her shaking her ample rear while her friend yelled in the background, “If it’s your birthday make some noise.” Cardi B has a lot to be celebrating right now not just her 25th birthday. She has the number one song on the planet and she just wrapped up a well-received performance at the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards.
Cardi B’s boyfriend Offset of Migos is throwing a party in her honor sometime this week and also will be presenting her with some expensive gifts. “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” is now in its third week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart making her the longest running female solo rapper at the top of the chart in history. Bardi also picked up three awards at last night’s BET Hip Hop Awards for Best New Artist, Hustler of the Year, and Single of the Year, which is all the more accolades for her to celebrate, she deserves all the glory she is getting now.
Cardi B is currently working on her new album, due early next year. She is also prepping her fans for her follow-up hit to “Bodak Yellow.” Last week she previewed a new single on Instagram that sounds fire, but she has decided yet if that will be her next solo single. Interestingly, Nicki Minaj is also working on her new album and with a soft rivalry going on between these two ladies, this should make for an interesting comparison when both projects arrive. Neither has given any release dates or titles for their respective projects, but we haven’t had a female rap album in a while so both projects are well overdue.
