Tory Lanez is expressing his gratefulness to Drake, a man he once feuded with at a time when they never even met.
On Monday night, Drake called out Tory Lanez on stage his 2017 OVO Fest concert in Toronto and the crowd went wild. Swavey was one of many surprises Drizzy had for his fans for this year’s OVO Fest, but he certainly wasn’t the only Canadian to take the stage as The Weeknd also performed on the event. In a surprising gesture on Wednesday (Aug. 9), Lanez thanked the 6 God on Instagram for the opportunity.
“Didn’t get a chance to say it on stage but this moment was not only impactive to me , but it was BIG for the city of Toronto,” Tory Lanez wrote. “Thank u @champagnepapi for bringing me out at the fest but a BIGGER thank u for paving the way for artist like me to shine from this city ! Let’s continue to put on for Toronto together #YaDunKnowFomlayRespectZeen lol.”
During his performance at OVO Fest, Drake shared his thoughts on the beef between himself and Tory Lanez telling the huge crowd that they had issues despite never meeting each other in person. But he said after meeting Lanez he realized that he was a great guy. “I met the man and he’s a great guy!” Drizzy said. The Young Money rapper even lamented the same thing during an interview earlier this year saying that he has no personal problems with Tory Lanez.
Back in May of this year, Drake and Tory Lanez officially made peace thanks to a mutual friend of both artists. Perhaps now we will get an official collaboration between the two Toronto stars or maybe not. They both performed “Controlla” together on OVO Fest. Tory famously did a remake for that single which helped sparked the feud with Drizzy last year.
