Birdman is not amused by Rick Ross recent diss track “Idols Become Rivals.” In fact, the Cash Money exec is furious with Rozay and thinks that he is just using his name to sell records.
If that is what the Maybach Music Group boss is really doing then it is working because aside from Drake’s More Life, all we are talking about in hip hop currently is Rick Ross new album Rather You Than Me, which was released yesterday. Sources told TMZ that Birdman sees the single as a mere publicity stunt on the part of Rozay and feels disrespected for no reason.
Rick Ross did go in on Birdman on the track and has indicated that his feelings are as a result of Baby’s treatment of Lil Wayne. Young Renzel called Birdman out on a wide range of things including not owning his cars and wearing fake jewelry. Rozay also raps about him not paying his artists as in the case of Lil Wayne.
It will be interesting to see how much copies of his album Rick Ross old in the first week. It will be hard to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 chart given that Drake is dropping his new album More Life today. Ross seems to be also feeling some type of way about how Birdman treated his close friend DJ Khaled. It’s no secret that the Cash Money honcho has developed quite a reputation among artists and producers aligned to his label who are complaining about not getting paid. Lil Wayne is suing Birdman and Cash Money for $51 million in unpaid advances for his albums. The Young Money rapper also wants a judge to release him from his contract arguing in his court docs that the label breached its contract with him by not paying him.
Birdman wants Rick Ross to put some “respeck” on his name.
