Alliance general Bounty Killer is perhaps the most prolific deejay in dancehall’s history.
Killer has been widely accredited for bringing some of the baddest artists to the forefront of dancehall, including Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Busy Signal, Elephant Man and many more. His influence couldn’t be more evident than his recently birthday bash at the Quad night club in Kingston last weekend.
“Before Alliance there was Scare Dem so a far me and Harry Toddler a come from under the guidance of Bounty Killer suh wi affi show the appreciation,” Elephant Man told journalist from the Star.
“As long as mi live mi affi respect Bounty Killer,” said sound system selector Foota Hype.
Scores of music industry personality show their presence at the Quad for a night dedicated to the Warlord of dancehall. Among celebrities were Dr Carolyn Cooper, Corey Todd, Jah Vinci, Notnice, Sizzla, Sean Paul, D’ Angel, Beenie Man, Jack Scorpio among others.
The affair came to an abrupt end early Monday morning after an off duty officer shot a man during a confrontation.
