Alliance Next Generation artist Eton Gordon aka “Calado” has now added the letter “K” to his monikor in replacement of the letter “C”.
The artist who recently return from a 4 weeks promo tour in Canada and who is currently getting heavy rotation for his songs “Nuh Gyal Cyaa Tear Mi” and “When She Wine” ft. Bounty Killer both on the Ground Zero Riddim and also “War Fi God” ft Bounty Killer & Kiprich said it was during the recording process of the latter song (War Fi God), the change came about in his name.
“It was after voicing war fi god at Dreday lastweek Tuesday, then the Wednesday mi and Killa at Weddy Weddy then he told me that he thinks ‘Calado’ should now be spelt with a ‘K'”. The artist went on to say “after Killa said this to me I looked within myself and to me this feels more potent and special, knowing that he is my father, mentor and dancehall king in music, words cannot explain how it feels coming from Killa himself”.
Kalado further stated “It was Killa who changed the “C” in Vybz Kartel earlier in his career to the letter “K”. Kalado said after doing the song with Kiprich and Bounty Killer “it felt had the right feeling knowing that all 3 of us are Alliance and we all identify with the letter “K”… 3K’s!! What could be more fitting ?
For Kalado who feels elated about the change, he says fans and friends have been telling him that they prefer the ‘K’ in his name and he has been getting favorable reviews on it.
Look out for Kalado’s “Whole Night” on the overtime riddim which also features Mavado’s “Caribbean Girl” and other tracks. The artist will be droping a video for this song very soon.
