Buju Banton Nominated For Two IRAWMA Awards

Incarcerated reggae star Buju Banton received two nominations for the upcoming 31st annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA), scheduled to take place on July 5 in Chicago, Illinois.

Banton, born Mark Myrie, cops the nomination for Best Song for his critically acclaimed collaboration “Jah Army” featuring Damian “Junior Gong” Marley and Stephen Marley.

Buju also received a nomination for Concert of the Year for his ‘Before The Dawn’ concert, hosted in Miami in January 2011.

Buju Banton is currently serving 10 years in a Miami prison after being convicted on drug trafficking charges last year.

Buju’s son Markus Myrie will be attending the awards on behalf of the regage singer.
