Young Thug scores a crucial win in his quest to have his probation terms relaxed.

The YSL rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Williams, had pleaded guilty in the YSL Rico case in October. Young Thug entered the guilty plea as part of a non-negotiated plea, leaving his fate totally in the judge’s hands. While he walked free the same day of the plea, he was hit with a lengthy and strict probation term, which would see him being on supervised release for 15 years.

A crucial part of his probation term was a ban from the metro Atlanta area for ten years, something his family and fans argued was unfair since that is where he grew up. There were some exceptions, which included attending a wedding, funeral, or graduation in the area. He was also permitted to visit the area for medical emergencies involving immediate family members.

Young Thug’s attorneys have since gone to court to ask the judge to revise the terms of his probation, and they were able to move the needle, although some folks may argue not by much. According to WSBTV, Judge Paige Reese Whitaker ruled on Wednesday (December 11) that Young Thug can visit only his home in Atlanta if he doesn’t violate the terms of his probation within the first three years on or before October 31, 2027.

Additionally, Thugger will only be permitted to visit his Atlanta home up to four times per year, non-consecutively, and for a maximum of two weeks per visit. Williams must also notify his probation officer five days in advance before going to his Atlanta home.

While some may argue that this is not much change to his probation, since he still will have to serve 15 years, his ability to visit his home and family throughout the year, especially on holidays, is a huge win for him. Nevertheless, Young Thug will not be spending the Christmas Holidays with his family in Atlanta.

The exact whereabouts of the Atlanta rapper since his release from jail is not known to the public, but there are rumors that he is staying somewhere in California. The “Lifestyle” rapper has received numerous visits from his friends in hip hop, including T.I., Lil Baby, and Drake, who reportedly gave him $1 million cash upon his release.
