Cardi B, Chance The Rapper and T.I. are set to appear on Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow on October 9. The exclusive music competition is already being called hip-hop’s first legit TV competition, according to Chance. The celebrity rappers will serve as judges on the three-week series.
According to the show’s synopsis, “Judges Cardi B, Chance the Rapper and T.I. search for the next breakout hip-hop star in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, and Chicago.” Netflix, of course, has been promoting the show and they released the teaser earlier this month which gave viewers and Hip-Hop fans a little taste of the “unprecedented 3-week event.” In the trailer, Chance The Rapper can be heard saying, “We’re about to make music history.”
Cardi shared the teaser to her Instagram page with the caption, “Rhythm & Flow on NETFLIX OCTOBER 9. Its such a fun, real a*s show. Nothing like no other music competition,” she stated. Fans of the rapper have already been asking where to sign up for season 2. Here is a breakdown of how the first season will work:
The first four episodes of the music competition will be released on Netflix on Wednesday, October 9. It will feature the auditions for the show in cities like Chicago, Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles. Three more episodes will premiere on Netflix the following week on Wednesday, October 16, and these episodes will have rap battles, cyphers, and some music videos as well. When the last three episodes hit Netflix on Wednesday, October, it will focus on collaborations, samples and of course announcing the winner who T.I. calls “the next hip-hop sensation” in the trailer.
If the teaser taught us anything, it’s that the judges are coming with their personality, the competitors are coming with their A-game and as Cardi B puts it, “It’s gonna be litty like a f**ing ti**y”.
