Madame Tussauds finally got it right with its new Beyoncé wax figure.
Madame Tussauds finally did Queen Bey some justice with its latest replica of the superstar after some questionable wax figures of the past. The museum revealed a new installation of Beyoncé’s persona that represented her during her famous Coachella performance. The singer is dressed in her yellow “Beychella” outfit with the Greek lettered hoodie and sparkling tinsel boots.
Bey is posed with her “black power” fist up, hip cocked to the side and a diva glare on her face, all of which gives off her vibe to a “T.” Not only did the museum honor her in the right way, they placed the figure among the ones of the British royal family, truly commemorating her Queen status. According to a statement from Madame Tussauds, the creators “decided the only fitting way to laud official music royalty is to position her on the most regal of all stages alongside her Royal pals, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
Queen Elizabeth’s figure was made to step aside, but only for a day, according to the museum, and then Bey’s statue will be moved to the music zone. General Manager of Madame Tussauds London said “Beyoncé is a living legend, rightly crowned Queen Bey by her legions of fans and industry insiders. If anyone is fitting of a claim to The Queen’s spot in our attraction for the very first time, it’s Beyoncé.”
Fans applauded the museum’s efforts after some failed attempts in the past to replicate the icon. Some figures show Beyonce with very pale skin and funny looking wigs, most of which received backlash from her loyal Beyhive fanbase. But this latest rendition got a two thumbs up with most supporters saying “it’s about time they got it right.”
