DJ Khaled drops off his “Higher” featuring Nipsey Hussle and John Legend.
Watching this video will make you miss Nipsey Hussle even more. DJ Khaled promised us that he would drop the video for his collaboration with the late Los Angeles rapper the same time when he dropped his new album Father of Asahd, and he did just that. The We The Best Music leader also revealed that he would donate all the proceeds from the music video to Nipsey Hussle kids.
Khaled and John Legend are perhaps the last artists who Nipsey Hussle worked with prior to his death. The three artists shot the music video for “Higher” on Thursday, March 28 in Inglewood, and three days later Nipsey was shot dead in his own hood while standing in front of The Marathon Clothing store.
A gift from my brother Nipsey that we want to share with the world. We miss you and we will forever keep your legacy going. The Marathon Continues. ??
God Bless You. ?? pic.twitter.com/QZ5LUxwP03

The cut was directed by Eif Rivera who dedicated the entire video to Nipsey Hussle. The Crenshaw rapper was decked out in his iconic Nipsey blue suit as John Legend belt out his vocals while playing the piano. “Proud to be a part of this inspiring record with djkhaled and @nipseyhussle. We lost him too soon,” John Legend tweeted.
DJ Khaled’s new album, Father of Asahd, is now available on all streaming platforms and “Higher” is one of the standout tracks on the project. Aside from Nipsey Hussle and John Legend, you can expect appearances from artists like Cardi B, Chris Brown, Meek Mill, Big Sean, Nas, 21 Savage, SZA, Post Malone, and a whole lot more.
