Ja Rule has reacted to the growing controversy surrounding the cancellation of this weekend’s Fyre Music Festival in the Bahamas.
If you look on Twitter you will notice that the hashtags #fyrefestival and #fyrefestivalfraud have been trending and now Ja Rule himself started trending since he issued a statement. The New York rap legend is named as the host of what is being promoted as a luxury once in a lifetime experience music festival and Blink-182 is the headlining act. Some attendees paid up to $12,000 to book a spot, but things quickly went south when concert goers started to arrive in the Bahamas for the event.
Some folks complained bitterly on Twitter that they were promised luxury accommodation and gourmet food but when they arrived they were greeted with a refugee camp style living and food that turned out to be salad with two pieces of bread with two pieces of cheese on top. In a statement released on Twitter, Ja Rule says the festival was not a scam but he takes full responsibility for it.
“We are working right now on getting everyone of the island SAFE that is my immediate concern,” Ja Rule said. “I will make a statement soon I’m heartbroken at this moment my partners and I wanted this to be an amazing event it was NOT A SCAM as everyone is reporting I don’t know how everything went so left but I’m working to make it right by making sure everyone is refunded. I truly apologize as this is NOT MY FAULT… but I’m taking responsibility I’m deeply sorry to everyone who was inconvenienced by this.”
Among the artists on the lineup includes Ja Rule, Rae Sremmurd, Skepta, Tyga, Desiigner, Pusha T, and Blink-182. These are some of the reactions on Twitter.

I'm hollering at the fact anyone would even attend a Ja Rule music festival. He doesn't even have a music career ?. #issascam pic.twitter.com/VtH3wnKed2
