The 2011 staging of the popular show Follow DI Arrow saw many memorable performances, but the end results was just too much to be ignored, as bottles and stones brought the show to a chaotic halt just before daylight.
Nevertheless, the show which was held at James Bond Beach in St. Mary, Jamaica, saw majority of artists delivering solid performances with some standing out more than others. The show was well supported by both male and females deejays.
Two of the most standout performances belong to I-Octane and Gyptian who were both a hit among the male and female fans at the show. Octane took the stage the thousands of screaming female fans who could not get enough of the ‘My Life’ deejay. Octane punched out several of his popular hit singles including My life, Puff it, Lose a friend and Badda Dan Dem with fast rising singjay Zamunda.
Like Octane, Gyptian had the females begging for more, as the ‘Hold Yuh’ deejay took the stage and delivered Beautiful Lady, Mama Don’t Cry, Na Let Go and Hold You. Female fans in particular could not get enough of Gypo, but he had to make way for several other artists to grace the stage.
Several culture artists who appeared on the show, surprisingly delivered rock solid performances on a show that is seen as a dancehall dominated affair. Veteran reggae stars the likes of Coco Tea, Louie Culture, George Nooks, Sizzla Kalonji, Teflon, Josey Wales and Anthony B all gave the crowd more than satisfactory performances.
Comeback kid Future Fambo continue to build on his dancehall legacy when he too delivered a good performance. The deejay performed Drunken Dance, Rum and Red Bull, Swag to name a few. Mr Lexx, Twin of Twins, Hero, Captain Barkley and Wickerman and a fire burning Fantan Mojah all left a lasting impression on patrons at James Bond Beach.
The females who were marked present at the show include D’Angel, Stacious and Macka Diamond were also well received by the Follow Di Arrow audience. DJ Face delivered a raunchy but well received performance, but not so for her legion of female upcoming artists.
Over the show was going well until during Bounty Killer performance, bottles started raining down on the stage.
