The Weeknd’s fans will not be seeing him in action on Rihanna‘s ANTI World Tour in Europe this summer.
Rihanna, who kicked off her tour earlier this month in Jacksonville FL, initially announced that The Weeknd and Big Sean would be joining her on the European leg of the tour starting June 17 in Amsterdam.
However, Live Nation has announced that the Canadian crooner has dropped out of the tour to focus on other upcoming projects.
“Due to some unforeseen changes with upcoming projects, The Weeknd will no longer be joining Rihanna on her upcoming international ‘ANTI’ World Tour,’” the tour’s promoters said in a statement.
Perhaps Rihanna will replace The Weeknd with Drake who she has been surprising her fans with since kicking off the tour in Florida. Drizzy performed with RiRi at her Miami show and was well received. The Bajan pop star will be performing at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo New York on Wednesday night.
