Sizzla Kalonji will be heading to the United States this summer. It has been years since the reggae/dancehall icon, also known as Miguel Collins, performed in the U.S.
Sizzla is the headline act on the Reggae on the River (ROTR) music festival in California. The show, which is in its 32nd year, will be held on August 4-7.
Sizzla New Album ‘876’ Debut On Billboard
Other reggae/dancehall acts billed for the even includes Assassin aka Agent Sasco, Yellow Man, Jesse Royal, Kranium, Anthony B, Jah9 and the Dub Treatement, Sister Carol, Dubtonic Kru, Addis Pablo, Keznamdi, and No Maddz.
“With more than 30 years behind us, we’ve seen multiple generations of festival goers make the ROTR pilgrimage. Some attendees from the early years are still with us to this day, and we are also now seeing a new crop of first-timers each year that are coming for a taste of the ROTR experience — and hopefully becoming return guests year after year,” the festival’s general manager, Justin Crellin, said.
Sizzla is among a handful of reggae/dancehall stars that have felt the wrath of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community in the United States and Europe over the past decade for what the group calls murder music.
It is not clear if Sizzla’s performance will trigger more protest from the group.
In 2013 the Sizzl’s U.S. visa was revoked but he has since gotten it reinstated.
His visa is NOT reinstated, this is a ROTR scam to sell tix,,, bumboclattttt!
