DJ Akademiks is taking back his criticisms of Jay-Z and now wants to join Roc Nation.
The podcast host has never been shy about his feelings towards Jay-Z and Roc Nation and often sided with anyone who is against the billionaire mogul. DJ Akademiks is a huge fan of Drake and even publicly criticized Hov for tapping Kendrick Lamar to headline the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show. When Jay-Z popped up on the radar for attorney Tony Buzbee in his lawsuits against Diddy, AK saw that as an opportunity also to criticize the rap icon.
However, the table has since turned against Buzbee, who found himself on the defense. The unnamed accuser was found to have several inconsistencies in her story about being raped by Jay-Z and Diddy when she was thirteen years old. The lawyers received a public backlash for allegedly engaging in a scheme against the rapper.
Perhaps that was the catalyst for DJ Akademiks to change his tune against Jay-Z, or maybe it is something else. Earlier this week, AK went on his stream to praise Hov and Roc Nation for how they handled the Buzbee situation swiftly and even issued a public apology to the New York rapper.
“This is why, I’m telling you,” Big AK said. “I want no smoke with Roc Nation and I issue a formal apology.” DJ Akademiks don’t want no smoke from Jay-Z because he also addressed the rap mogul directly while asking to be on his team. “Jay-Z, I want to be on your team,” he continues. “I wanna be in the camp of the Roc Nation.”
DJ Akademiks also praised Jay-Z and Roc Nation for being too powerful and having enormous power over the music industry making them almost untouchable. “Get me to a billionaire status, too,” he said. Ak says he would no longer comment on the Tory Lanez case despite being friends with the Canadian rapper. “I ain’t gonna turn against Tory, but I got no more opinion on that,” he added. Tory Lanez and his associates have criticized Roc Nation for years over his case involving Megan Thee Stallion.
Akademiks shocked viewers during a livestream when he apologized to Jay-Z, the staff, the record label, and the mf crew.

In the meantime, Jay-Z and Tony Buzbee could be gearing up for more legal showdowns as both sides have shown intent to sue the other. The Houston attorney is also dealing with his own accusation as a female is alleging that he gave her an STD, which he called a smear campaign.
