Young Thug has broken his silence on his lengthy probationary sentence.

The Atlanta rapper’s fans have been wanting to hear from him for weeks, but he remains low-key since his release from jail on October 31. You can recall Young Thug stunning everyone when he decided to plead guilty in the YSL Rico trial without negotiating a plea agreement with prosecutors. Fortunately for him, the judge showed leniency in handing down her sentencing.

The YSL rapper was sentenced to time served and 15 years on strict probation. He was also sentenced to 20 years on the back end, meaning if he gets into any more trouble during his probationary period, he could serve 20 years in prison. As if that wasn’t enough, Thugger is also banned from the Metro Atlanta area for ten years, which his father, Jeffery Williams Sr., argued is unfair given this is the area he grew up.

Young Thug’s lawyer says he was also hit with thousands of dollars in fines and 100 hours of community service. The rapper’s defense attorney, Keith Adams, sat down for a Livestream interview with TheFitLawyerATL, during which Thugger called in via Facetime. The rapper thanked his fans for their support during the over two-year ordeal, but it’s clear that he wants off probation. During the call, he asked both lawyers to “get me off the probation.” Thugger also threw up the peace sign and asked his attorney to look into a matter regarding some missing jewelry from his arrest in May of 2022.

Adams also shared Young Thug’s reactions to his YSL co-defendants Deamonte “Yak Gotti” Kendrick and Shannon Stillwell being found not guilty. “Jeffery [Young Thug] called me about five minutes after that verdict came down […] His reaction was twofold,” Adams said. “He was happy for [Gotti] and for Stillwell. Very happy. He was happy that they’re coming home. There was a part of him I think that was thinking, ‘We probably should have gone all the way ’cause we would have been walking out of there with a not guilty verdict as well.'”

Adams added, “I agree, we would have. And we wanted to. There came a point where Jeffery made a decision to enter that plea and go home that day, and he did. So his reaction, he was happy for them [but] there was a little bit of regret on his part.”

The “Go Crazy” rapper seemed to be adjusting well to life as a free man. He has been getting a lot of visits from his friends and fellow rappers, including T.I., Drake, and Lil Baby. Drake reportedly saw him the same day of his release and gave him $1 million.
