Masicka celebrated his birthday with some new music.

The dancehall artist turned 31 on December 4th, and to mark the occasion, he released his new song “Trophies” with an accompanying visual directed by AKA. Ruppi. The cut saw Masicka hitting the studio to lay down the celebratory bars while reflecting on his Billboard plaques. The track received almost 200,000 views on YouTube on the first day of release, numbers that only a few dancehall artists are doing in this music era.

“Jah Jah yah cover me, I pray / Blessing them heavy no like weight/ So the lesson a go rough but me solid, me mind straight / Find my way / Rain a fall and the sky might gray / Fi me youth survive in a e night / ‘Nough time me risk me life in e day (Uh huh),” the Genahsyde artist deejays.

Masicka shouted out his Genahsyde fans on Instagram, who have been supporting him heavily and sending him birthday wishes. “Blessing and love to all me fans,” he wrote. “Journey continue. Stronger than before. Big up Andrea grant you birth a star. We up life is all we need nothing else.”

Artists like Lola Brooke, Dexta Daps, and Shenseea have all sent Masicka birthday shout-outs on the Gram.

In the meantime, the “Reverse Time” deejay is expected to release a project on Friday (December 5th), a day that he will also be hosting his birthday celebration at Taboo nightclub in Miami. Masicka has not yet indicated if the project will be an album or an EP but shared that it will be his best body of work yet.

Masicka released a handful of new singles over the past few months, including “Whites,” “Who FI Stop We,” “All Over Again,” and “Never Complain” with Teejay.
