Charlamagne Tha God gave Drake Donkey of the Day over his UMG lawsuit following Kendrick Lamar’s stinging diss track, “Not Like Us.”
The Breakfast Club co-host slams Drake about his UMG lawsuit and says he’s benefitted from the very thing he’s now against. Charlamagne gave Drake the ‘Donkey of the Day’ title while calling out the Canadian rapper, labeling him a hypocrite. Drake’s lawsuit filed last week against his own label alleges that during the beef with Kendrick Lamar, UMG engaged in a “scheme” to boost “Not Like Us” making the track appear more popular than it really was.

The song broke multiple records on platforms like Spotify, thanks to help from UMG’s marketing efforts, as Lamar is also signed to the label. However, Charlamagne called out the “Taylor Made Freestyle” rapper.
“All I am saying Aubrey is stop acting like you haven’t been the beneficiary of record label trick-nology. You being a whole hoe simply because you lost,” the morning show host slammed Drake. He continued, “simply because Kendrick Lamar kicked your a** lyrically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally and anybody acting like this is more than anything Drake’s feelings being hurt, you a hoe too… an OVhoe exactly.”
Charlamagne also mocked Drake’s fans who supported his lawsuit and compared his struggles in the music industry to that of Michael Jackson’s. However, Charlamagne Tha God did not hold back, claiming that those people would do anything for Drake.
“Drake’s been handling this terribly since ‘Not Like Us’ dropped… Drake, you’re in this position because you tapped out, you chose to tap out… it was too much for you because you didn’t have to tap out, you could have went in the studio and give us a bop, you the bop guy,” he added.
Charlamagne’s comments don’t resonate with Drake fans with OVO stans on social media accusing him of having a long-standing beef with Drizzy. Drake has not reacted to the commentary nor the backlash over the filing of the claim.
In the meantime, Kendrick Lamar is enjoying massive success with his new album, GNX, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart after selling 319,000 album-equivalent units in the first week of release. Approximately 32,000 units were from Album Digital Sales, while 285,000 were streams on DSP. There are rumors that Kendrick has a second album lined up in case Drake decides to release an album.
