Romeich Major is sorry for his role in a massive brawl at Rebel’s birthday party at Mass Camp in Kingston.
The incident, which was captured on a cellphone camera, has caused an uproar on social media, with supporters of the victims, TikToker TJ Thuglife and his girlfriend Moya, blaming the artist manager for the two getting assaulted. The clips show a group of men assaulting TJ and Moya as others try to stop the beating.
In one video, Romeich Major was allegedly seen telling one of his associates to attack another man who he seemingly had an argument with. “Guh box him dung nuh,” he said. The associate immediately attacked the other man, later identified as TJ Thuglife. A massive brawl then broke out, and the TikToker’s girlfriend, Moya, tried to jump to his defense. The incident caused the party to end prematurely, upsetting some partygoers who requested a refund.
Romeich Major, who manages Rebel, issued a public apology after getting backlash. The businessman was called out by the dancer and other well-known individuals in the entertainment space.
“Early Saturday morning after Rebel’s event, I was involved in actions that caused harm to Tik Toker #tj_thuglife and his girlfriend #moya,” Romeich wrote in a post on Instagram. “There is no justification for my actions. I acted out of poor judgment, and I deeply regret the pain, and damage I have caused to TJ and Moya, their loved ones, and the community at large. Violence or harm of any kind is never acceptable, and I am ashamed of my role in this incident.”
Romeich continues, “I apologize unreservedly. No one deserves this, and I will do everything in my power to make amends. I am committed to taking responsibility for my actions and ensuring that nothing like this ever happens again.”
The Romeich Entertainment principal also noted that he has since taken steps to show his sincerity and pledged to cooperate with any law enforcement investigation or legal proceedings that may come from the incident. He also pledges to advocate for conflict resolutions with the community and apologized to brand partners. Following the video circulation, there were calls for Romeich to be canceled, but so far, none of the brands he worked with have responded to those calls.
“I understand that words alone cannot undo the harm caused, but I am committed to demonstrating my remorse through meaningful actions and accountability,” he wrote. “I hope to regain the trust I have lost, though I know this will take time and consistent effort.”
