Young Thug has been getting a lot of visitors since his release from jail, but the person he likes spending the most time with is his girlfriend Mariah The Scientist.
The Atlanta rapper was released from jail on Halloween Day, October 31, after being incarcerated for over two years. Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffrey Williams, stunned the hip-hop community when he pleaded guilty in the YSL Rico case. What was surprising in his plea agreement was that he opted not to negotiate the terms with prosecutors.
The gamble eventually paid off, with the judge handing him a suspended sentencing, which saw him getting released the same day. However, Young Thug didn’t get off scot-free. The judge hit him with a hefty 15-year probation along with some strict probation terms. Additionally, if he gets into more trouble before his probation ends, the “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times)” rapper could spend 20 years in prison.
Thugger is also barred from contacting gang members except for Gunna and his brother Quantavious Grier, better known as Unfoonk. Thug requested contact with the two men implicated in the YSL Rico case because he says he might be contractually obligated to work with them for his music career. Despite asking to be in contact with Gunna specifically, Young Thug took a surprise jab at the “Pushin P” rapper on X/Twitter earlier this month, making it clear that they are not friends.
Young Thug has been getting a lot of support since his release from prison, including support from his outspoken father and girlfriend Mariah The Scientist. Several rappers have since visited him at his home, including Lil Baby, T.I., and Drake, who reportedly flew via his private jet to see the rapper within hours of his release and gave him $1 million.
Mariah The Scientist was one of the first people to visit the rapper. The singer went to be by Young Thug’s side shortly after his release from jail. Mariah is now touring with Latto and KARRAHBOOO, but she still finds time to spend with her boyfriend. The R&B songstress shared a sweet photo of herself and Thugger on her Instagram Story, showing him massaging her feet. Interestingly, she had a performance shortly after hearing about Thug’s impending release. She was visibly emotional on stage as she reflected on the past two years of him being incarcerated.
