Kendrick Lamar doesn’t seem focused on his beef with Drake right now, but that doesn’t mean his fans will forget it anytime soon.
The Toronto rapper debuts a new look inspired by a 90s R&B singer DeVanté Swing. Drake shared a photo of his new look on his Instagram Story over the weekend. While he cut his cornrow that he has been sporting over the past two years or more, his signature beard is still intact. You will see Drizzy now wearing a shorter and wavy hairstyle with the sides faded.
Drake also shared a photo of the Jodeci singer hinting that’s where he drew inspiration from. Some fans would say this is a return to a more familiar Drake, while others think that he is getting ready for a new era in his career with new music. Interestingly, DeVanté Swing was recently named in a lawsuit involving Diddy, which resulted in some fans coming at Drizzy for the post.
In the end, it was Kendrick Lamar’s fans who started trolling Drake for the new look as several people re-shared the photos while giving their take on it. “Why is he doing the zoolander pose? Those 360 waves look like Lake Minnetonka,” one fan wrote.
“Bro had to change his identity after that last run-in with Kendrick Lamar. Bro pushing 40 still doing duckfaces,” another fan added. Another added, “Kendrick done ruined this mans career and reduced him to a social media model. The haircut is nice. I just wish he would stop with the lips on the photo.”
Following the release of his last album, For All the Dogs, Drake hinted that he would be going on a hiatus from music. Nevertheless, his lyrical beef in the summer with Kendrick Lamar didn’t go as planned as the Compton rapper ripped into him with several vicious diss tracks. While Lamar hasn’t been saying much about the beef these days, it appears it is still fresh in the minds of his fans.
