Young Thug makes his feelings about Gunna clear following his surprised plea agreement.

The Atlanta rapper copped a non-negotiated plea deal last month in the ongoing YSL Rico case that saw him being released from prison on Halloween Day. Following his release, several YSL members celebrated his freedom, including Gunna, who paid homage to Young Thug at his concert the following day.

Interestingly, in handing down her sentencing, the judge granted Young Thug’s request to maintain contact with his brother Quantavious “Unfoonk” Grier and Gunna, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, because of musical contractual agreements. The move left some fans speculating that the “Lifestyle” rapper wanted to drop new music with his frequent collaborator and labelmate. It doesn’t seem like that is the case, considering a message sent from Young Thug’s X/Twitter account on Saturday (November 9).

“Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don’t know u my guy,” the message reads. The post has since been deleted but not before it spreads all over the internet, igniting a firestorm. The message came within hours of the “Drip Too Hard” rapper posting a message on his Instagram Story alluding to new music from Thugger.

A previous post from Young Thug about making music with Lil Baby also sparked a debate on social media over whether or not it was directed at Gunna and if he was calling the “Pushin P” rapper a “snitch.” In that post, Thugger wrote, “Wham let’s drop one on these rats peter.” The same day, a billboard was spotted in Los Angeles with the message, “whateva wham say goes.”

It’s safe to say that fans shouldn’t expect any Gunna and Young Thug collaboration anytime soon, but can expect new music from Thug and Lil Baby. It’s unclear if the two rappers exchanged words since Thug’s release from jail over a week ago.

Young Thug Father Warns against Fake Love from T.I.

In the meantime, Young Thug’s father is sending a warning about fake love his son has been getting since being released from behind bars. Jeffery Williams Sr. has previously defended Gunna from criticisms after he copped a plea deal in 2022 and was released from jail. The elder Williams also criticized prosecutors for pushing for strict probation rules for Thug, including a 10-year ban from the Metro Atlanta area, where he grew up. He is also calling out T.I. for posting a video of himself with Thug, saying TIP is one of the rappers showing fake love.

“We got all these rappers and everybody trying to find Young Thug,” Williams Sr. said during a recent appearance on a podcast. “They want to talk to Young Thug, they want to this, that, and the other. Where your a** been for 29 months? Why y’all a** ain’t been out there protesting for his constitutional rights being violated? Y’all are the ones considered to be the influencers. Ain’t influencing s**t. Where y’all been? Y’all been quiet for 29 months. But now everybody want to be seen. Everybody want to try to get a chance to talk to him, this, that, and the third. For what? Let’s make it make sense.”

Thugger is now spending quality time with his children and girlfriend Mariah The Scientist.
