Gunna’s brother is jumping to his defense following a humiliating post from Young Thug.
Thugger surprised everyone on Saturday (November 9) when his X/Twitter account made a post about the status of his relationship with Gunna. It appears that Young Thug got wind of a post that the “Pushin P” rapper made on Instagram, seemingly promoting Thug’s new music. In setting the record straight, the “Good Times” rapper wrote, “Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don’t know u my guy.”
Young Thug has since deleted the post, but not before it went viral, triggering a firestorm among the two rapper’s fan bases. Gunna has remained silent on the issue, but his brother has come to his defense, firing back at the YSL leader. “Trust and believe the feeling is mutual [P emoji],” his brother wrote.
Thug has not responded to Gunna’s brother’s message, but it’s now clear that the two rappers are not on speaking terms, and as a result, no new music from them is forthcoming. Hip-hop fans are the ones suffering as this beef unfolds. Their fans had been hoping that they would get back to making music together.
During his sentencing after copping a plea deal, Young Thug had specifically asked the judge for permission to communicate with Gunna and his brother Unfoonk for the sake of his rap career after his release from jail. The judge granted him that request, leaving fans to believe that he and Gunna were on good terms. Perhaps they still have a business relationship and are bound to work together contractually. Still, it doesn’t make sense for a lot of us to watch one of the best rap duos plunged into a beef.
Even if they are still bound contractually to do business together, it doesn’t make sense to inject emotions into it and further deteriorate their relationship. Additionally, Thug was released under strict probationary guidelines, which he will have to stay out of trouble for the next 15 years. If he happened to violate his probation, he could face 20 years in prison due to a back-end sentencing on top of his probationary period.

In the meantime, Young Thug appears to be getting ready to release new music with Lil Baby, one of the rappers who was highly critical of Gunna for taking a plea deal in 2022. Whether you’re a fan of the two rappers or just a hip-hop fan on the sidelines, this is sad to watch.
