Kevin Gates and his daughter caused quite a stir on TikTok after debuting their costumes for Halloween.
If you’ve been following Kevin Gates’ career or a fan of his music then you would know that controversy is nothing new to him. The New Orleans rapper collaborated with his daughter Jade for a TikTok video that has since gone viral. The daddy-daughter duo expected the fun-loving skit to be well-received by fans but it turns out that it wasn’t received in a good light.
DJ Akademiks reshared the clip on his Instagram account which prompted a heated debate about the appropriateness of it. “I mean yes its cringe but he still does it, why? Because it makes his daughter happy and that’s what its all about, but yes its hella inappropriate,” one fan noted. “Man Kevin Gates def know that ts weird as hell but if it makes his daughter happy he might as well try and understand her. plus it’s harmless fr she ain’t hurting no one, super weird tho,” one person admitted.
“Let that man support his daughter as long as she is happy some of y’all don’t know what its like that’s why the comments look a hot mess,” one fan said.
This is not the first time that Kevin Gates has caught heat for sharing content on social media with his daughter. Last year the Louisiana rapper caught some heat for sharing a video of himself teaching his daughter to drive. Some folks believed that it was dangerous to have the then-10-year-old behind the wheel on the road. In the clip, he even assured her that she didn’t need to wear her seat belt which only further angered fans.
Kevin Gates has not responded to his critics on either occasion. The rapper instead continues to spend time with his daughter the way he sees fit. In the meantime, fans can expect new music from Gates who is currently working on a new album.
