YSL Woody wants Young Thug to know that he is sorry for testifying in the YSL Rico trial.
Woody, whose real name is Kenneth Copeland, was the prosecutor’s star witness during the trial and you can recall him making headlines for his erratic behaviors in court on the witness stand, casting a shadow over the state’s case against Young Thug. During his testimony, he even admitted to lying to law enforcement authorities about Thugger from as far back as 2015 when he would make up fake names of people to authorities to get them off his back.
“Every time I counted the door, the police was on me, and they keep bringing up Thug’s name,” he said while admitting that he lied about Thug doing crimes to get the police off his tail. “So what I did was to get ’em out off me, I said, ‘Thug did this. Thug did that.”
On Thursday (October 17), YSL Woody shared a video on his YouTube channel speaking about the situation and his relationship with Young Thug. He dubbed the video “Just A Conversation With Lil Woody” and in one segment he appears to get emotional while reflecting on the series of events over the past year.
“The pain, the suffering, everything I’ve caused on him and his family,” Woody said. “I wish I had the mindset and the strength that I have now. I’ll never forgive myself. I took him through a process that I never should have took him through. Even though I know I’m not the cause of it, despite how anybody may feel, it’s wrong.”
Last month, YSL Woody shared a heartfelt post on Instagram asking God to protect Young Thug and his co-defendants against what he called a corrupt system. His post didn’t go over well with Thugger’s fans and some of his associates who called out Woody for testifying in the trial and then turned around asking Thug for forgiveness.
“Father God we need you now more than ever I pray that you answer our prayer and free Jeffery & co-defendants,” he wrote while sharing a photo of Young Thug smiling. “The world has seen the treatment our justice system has done to us lock us up forced us to tell untruthful stories. The mistreatment is crazy. Wrong is wrong we have sympathy for all the victims and their families as kids bad choices are made and punishment is acceptable but this is a different story this is corruption this is madness and very personal.”
YSL Woody was previously sentenced to serve prison time for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He reportedly brought an assault rifle to a gymnasium in Atlanta and had the weapon in full view of other people including children. Someone eventually called 911 and Woody was arrested and charged.
Last year a leaked video shows YSL Woody giving detectives information alleging that Young Thug was plotting a murder. “Somebody is supposed to get killed tonight,” Woody told detectives while suggesting that he is taking a risk giving them the information.. “This is a murder that’s about to take place with some very hot people and the stuff that I know right now should help me get out of my situation.”
