There are no hard feelings from Keyshia Cole towards her ex-boyfriend Jeezy getting engaged to Jeannie Mai.
What feels like a million years ago — but was really only about 13 — the “I Should Have Cheated” singer and the Atlanta rap legend were a thing and even have recorded a song together. Fast forward a decade and a half later, and Jeezy is currently living his best life with his new lady, Jeannie Mai.
The couple kept their romance quiet for the first few months but went red carpet official last August, and it’s been smooth sailing on the love boat ever since. Family celebrations at the holidays curled up in quarantine, and finally, a romantic proposal that brought the eat to the west.
Instead of being able to embark on their Vietnamese adventure due to COVID-19 (Jeannie is half Vietnamese), Jeezy created a Vietnamese night in his apartment, complete with lanterns and chopsticks, as he asked the co-host of The Real to be his bride. She, of course, said yes, and now Keyshia Cole is expressing how thrilled she is for the lovebirds!
“I’m super proud of Jeezy and Jeannie,” Keyshia said. “She’s a sweetie. She’s always been sweet. But I’m super proud of the fact that he actually has taken that step to love openly because I know that the thing was, it was something he didn’t feel like he could do because of where he comes from.”
It sounds like the exes are both in good spaces — Jeezy with Jeannie Mai, and Keyshia Cole with Nico Khale, with whom she welcomed a son last August.
