French Montana is on the mend, according to his good friend, Megan The Stallion.
The “Out of Your Mind” rapper recently spent 9 days in the hospital as doctors tried to figure out a mystery illness that began with intense stomach pain, nausea, and an elevated heart rate. French Montana was admitted to San Fernando Valley Hospital on November 21st after experiencing the symptoms and collapsing at his Calabasas home. As the 35-year-old wiled away the hours in ICU, he was thankfully kept away from boredom by special people in his life, such as the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper. During her visit to Frenchie, Megan Thee Stallion shared a story to IG in which she joked, “Get you motherf***** a*s out this motherf***** bed and go home!”
French was released from the hospital shortly after, telling fans that he was getting better a day at a time, and Megan has now given a further update on the music producer’s health.
“He’s great,” she told E! News at Variety’s 2019 Hitmakers event in West Hollywood last night. “I’m actually going to go see him after this. He’s like, ‘Megan, I just can’t believe you came to see me.’ And I’m like, ‘Why would I not come see you, you’re my friend!’ So yeah, he’s good.”
In fact, the Moroccan native is very good, as he has just dropped his third studio album.
French announced the release date for Montana while still in recovery, assuring fans that even IVs and illness can’t hold him back.
“CANT KEEP ME DOWN !!,” he captioned a photo of himself doing a push-up. “Been workin hard on my new album and I’m so proud to announce it’s coming THIS FRIDAY !!! #MONTANA The music is keepin my spirit alive. THANK YOU to my fans, love y’all for ridin with me thru this journey.”
The album features several collaborators, including Drake, Chris Brown, Swae Lee, Post Malone, and Cardi B, amongst others.
