An exclusive track from Buju Banton will be featured on the soundtrack of the British film Blue Story, which will become available for streaming tomorrow, Friday, November 15, ahead of its November 22 release date.
The maker of the film, Andrew Onwubolu, aka Rapman recently took to Instagram to reveal the list of soundtracks comprising of 12 brand-new tracks, featuring Rapman himself, Giggs, Krept and Konan, Jorja Smith, Buju Banton, and others.
“I present to you the track listing for the Blue Story movie soundtrack!! Every track on here is exclusive never been heard before,” the award-winning film director said of the movie, which is backed by BBC Films and Paramount.
Buju Banton’s track titled ‘Bring It On’ is fourth on the list of 12 songs and will be played in the movie, which is described as a “hard-hitting crime drama about two friends who become enemies in a nasty London gangland war.
The movie, according to reviewers, follows two rival groups of teenagers in South London, and much of the storylines within the movie are based on Rapman’s own experiences growing up in that geographical area. On reviewer Fionnuala Halligan, chief film critic of Screen Daily noted that strong passions inflame Blue Story, which she described as a classic cautionary tale.
“It’s a lament, with narration eloquently rapped, for those killed and injured in the knife crime epidemic which has afflicted London’s poorer communities, impacting on black teenage boys in particular,” she noted.
