A very close friend of Snoop Dogg, rapper Bad Azz passed away in jail.
The Dogg Pound rapper died on Monday while in custody at a Riverside, California detention center, TMZ reported. Bad Azz was being held for a domestic violence charge and was arrested on Friday. He had a court date scheduled for Tuesday while his bail was set at $10,000. Unfortunately, Snoop Dogg’s friend was not bailed out and did not make it to his court day.
Rapper Bad Azz is associated with Tha Dogg Pound Gangsta Crips along with Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, and others. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with F.A.B., Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, and even the late Tupac. He released four solo albums and at least two collaborative projects as well. The 43-year-old rapper is said to have well over 70 features credited to his name over the years, according to TMZ.
Bad Azz’s cause of death has not been reported, but friends and fans have been sending their heartfelt condolences and sharing tributes on social media platforms. Snoop Dogg posted a photo of the deceased Bad Azz with the caption, “Damn. R. I. P. To my young. D. P. G. L. L. G. L. B. C. Crew original @badazzlbc gone 2 soon.”
The post received some mixed reactions with one user pointing out this: “Damn OG say it ain’t so… Badazz was the realest from your set, that’s on everything. I send my love to his family and friends,” he wrote. Another fan commented, “Where was Snoop to help him bail out?” While most of our questions about this suspicious case go unanswered for now, we ought to keep an eye on how this story develops as more details are bound to come to light very soon, considering the sketchy nature of the rapper’s death. R.I.P. Bad Azz.
