City Girls rapper JT is finally free.
JT’s bandmate Yung Miami confirmed on Tuesday that the rapper is officially free. While she didn’t share a photo or a video of her homegirl out of jail, she did share the cover art for a new single coming tonight called, “JT First Day Out.” The cover art was also shared on JT‘s official IG page and on Quality Control and City Girls’ official accounts, which gave the news some validity.
“YOU B**CHES IN TROUBLE!! MY B**CH HOME! @thegirljt TONIGHT @ 10PM,” Yung Miami wrote while JT added in her post, “You B**ches Could Neva 10p est #JTFree.”
The new song is believed to be a celebratory anthem for the City Girls rapper whose released from prison was highly anticipated due to the success of the group during her incarceration. Last year summer, JT, whose real name is Jatavia Shakara Johnson, was sentenced to 24 months in jail for credit card fraud.
Initial reports suggest that she would be released from jail in March of next year, but over the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen Yung Miami touting her looming release, which comes on the heels of a riveting testimony in court by rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine.
Yung Miami is currently very pregnant, so don’t expect a City Girls tour anytime soon. But as for new music, it’s coming as early as tonight at 10 PM sharp.
