It looks like K. Michelle hasn’t been paying her taxes and may be facing some legal problems because of it.
Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star and singer K. Michelle is accused of skipping out on paying roughly $16,000 in taxes in 2017. According to court documents obtained by the Blast, the reality star was hit with a state tax lien from the Georgia Department of Revenue.
The “Can’t Raise a Man” singer, born Kimberly Michelle Pate, originally owed around $11,000 in back taxes, but the bill escalated from interest and late fees over the last two years. If she does not settle the debt, the Georgia Department of Revenue threatened to begin seizing her assets and even her property, The Blast said.
The 34-year-old songstress has appeared on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, New York, and Hollywood. Her big personality and outspoken tendencies won her her own spin-off show, “K. Michelle: My Life” on Vh1 that was canceled after three seasons. Her fourth album was released in December 2017, the same year she is accused of evading taxes.
All the while the singer has been teasing a forthcoming album titled All Monsters Are Human. Hopefully, she can answer to the IRS, and this case won’t hinder fans from getting new music.
All these lyrics ? We go through it! Hope ALL MONSTERS ARE HUMAN brings that same feeling ? #AMAH
