Drake says the PartyNextDoor hiatus will end soon.
On Monday night, during Drake’s headlining set at OVO Fest in Toronto, Drake took the time to let the massive crowd know that his protege PartyNextDoor is finally coming back with new music. “Baka, PartyNextDoor. New PND on the way,” he said.
Fans have been wondering where Party has been since his last project, Seven Days, dropped two years ago. We all know Party for his songwriting abilities, and lately, he has been penning hits for other artistes rather than himself. The singer/songwriter has penned hits like Rihanna’s “Work,” DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts,” and a list of Drake hit songs. So there has been speculation that he’s been busy making songs for other major stars.
In November 2017 Party swore to take his time making this next project that’s supposed to be titled Club Atlantis, according to The Fader. PND, who’s also a Canada native, swore in a tweet that his next project will be “straight party & unapologetic.”
The new Party music announcement was just one of many surprises Drake had in store during OVO Fest 2019. Aubrey brought out several special guests including Cardi B, Rick Ross, Megan Thee Stallion, Chris Brown, Meek Mill, Tyga and more.
There is no word yet on when exactly PartyNextDoor will drop and if it will be a new song or the entire album. Nevertheless, at this point, fans will take whatever they can get from the R&B star.
