Rising teenage rapper, Hella Sketchy, whose real name is Jacob Tyler Thureson, has died. The SoundCloud rapper reportedly died froman apparent drug overdose. The rapper’s father Erik confirmed the news via Twitter on Friday (June 28). Erik explained that Sketchy fell into a coma following a drug overdose incident two weeks ago. The rising 18-year-old rapper did not wake up out of his two-week long coma. His family, close friends and fans are currently remembering him with heartfelt messages on social media.
“You are not supposed to go before your father or grandfather,” Erik wrote.. “That’s not supposed to happen. That’s not how this works. We have no words. We are so sad to share that Jacob Tyler Thureson passed away on June 27,2019 at 5:11 am.”

Record label, Atlantic Records confirmed his passing via a press release on Friday. “The tragic passing of Hella Sketchy is a devastating loss. He was an enormously creative, sensitive soul with a brilliant sense of humor,” the statement reads. “He was just beginning to show the world his talent and originality, and it’s heartbreaking that such a bright future has been cut short. Everyone at APG and Atlantic sends our deepest condolence to his family, friends and fans.”
Hella Sketchy thanks his fans in his last post on Instagram which he posted the same day that he overdosed. “I love you guys so much thank you for supporting me I’m so grateful that I can help people with my music,” he wrote.
