Boosie Badazz was released from jail on Tuesday after posting a $3,500 bond.
Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie was arrested in Newnan, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta on Monday. The hip hop veteran, real name Torrence Hatch Jr., along with retired NFL star Antonio Allen, were taken into custody after cops found a weapon and drugs in their car. Both men were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm during a felony. They both spent the night in a Coweta County and posted their bond on Tuesday.
According to the police report, a sheriff’s deputy pulled over the white Dodge Charger that Boosie was driving after observing the care weaving through traffic almost hitting another vehicle.
The car was searched, and a bag of weed, a bag of cash, THC oil, and a loaded 9mm handgun were found under the passenger seat. Cops say the bag of cash amounts to $20,000. Boosie told WSB TV that the arrest was all “a misunderstanding.”
Boosie Badazz was convicted for marijuana and gun possession in 2009 and sent to prison for two years. In 2010, he pleaded guilty to smuggling drugs inside a Louisiana state prison and sentenced to eight years. He was released from prison in 2014 and had been on probation until 2018.
